Leaflet update -Nicholas

The leaflet is now finished and submitted , although via email , as Photoshop wouldn't allow printing. The leaflet uses images from Scope which were found using Google. I would have used the image banks provided by Mariana, but the images would then not be related to the correct charity and therefore be inaccurate. The font used has been altered in size to allow images to take over parts of the leaflet. I was originally planning to put the text in front and leave the background to be filled by an image, although I then rethought through the process and it wouldn't resemble any leaflets I'd seen before, and may look out of place.

Leaflet design -Nicholas

Today I tried to experiment the layout a little. I tried changing the colour of the text so that it could go against the background colour in the form of boxes in the shape of steps; blue text was against a green box and green text against a blue one. I also looked at other leaflets again and the colour scheme of the website in order to depict whether or not it was wise to change the layout.

Laurie Sugden ( gorilla advertising/ concept drawings explanation)

For the brief I decided to focus on Gorilla advertising for the campaign as a way in which we could advertise Scopes charity campaign. Gorilla advertising is a form of advertising which can be seen on bilboards or buildings aswell as public transport such as buses. i thought this would be a great way to spread Scopes message around to people, which is giving people with disability's equal opportunities as everyone else.
here are some photos taken of my ideas in concept drawing form to show ways of advertising scope in a Gorilla advertising way.
the above image shows a concept drawing of a billboard that is a representation of scope. in front of it shows a helium balloon representing the earth, which sends out the message that the whole world can be seen coming together, with equal rights and opportunities as each other. after getting feedback, i thought that the billboard could be placed on a wall around EdgeHill campus, with a balloon placed in front of it. this is one idea.
this photo of one of my concept drawings shows a poster of Scope being advertised on a bilboard along a roadside. however after recieving feedback, i thought that this idea could still be used, but in poster format around the EdgeHill campus, or maybe even seen in this size and near one of the campus carparks.

This photo shows a concept drawing of a screen that could be placed on to buses and trains, to advertise Scope, however, after recieving feedback from my work, we decied that this idea could still potentially work, however it would be advertised along the EL1 bus which is a shuttle bus for
  students on the EdgeHill campus.

This image represents a concept drawing of a memorial wall that could be painted alongside one of the buildings on the Edgehill campus to represent Scope's charity - bringing communities together, giving equal opportunities to people. I feel it would fit in well around the uni campus as a form of advertising Scopes charity, using a Gorilla format.
here is an image of the hard copy that I am going to hand in, in person to CMIST.

23rd apr (due to posting in the wrong blog) finalising ideas in Photoshop for the layout

Today I began drawing up the leaflet in photoshop, from some originally drawn out ideas. I followed a template of:

FRONT
- Scope logo at top
- Slogan (Ability, not Disability)
- Large box of background info, and aims of the charity, Inc photos if possible.

BACK
- what your donation goes towards, and how you can help.
- large picture.
- banner, with terms and conditions at the bottom.

I used the website; www.scope.org.uk in order to find information on the company, which the leaflet would benefit from.

17 apr (due to posting in the wrong blog originally, this had to be reposted) Nicholas - ideas drawn up.

I have started thinking about how to lay out the leaflet , and have come up with a brief form of layout after trying some different ideas. I will need to look at different fliers and their layouts before finally producing a piece, but I've thought of a template so far, and considering the information I am to input , I think there will be space for background aims and brief intro on the front, what you can do at the bottom of the front (in bullet points), and what your donation can go on to do at the back , along with terms and conditions and maybe a banner at the bottom. Photos on each page will help out and add interest to the piece, and the scope logo at the top will have to be made clear. Larger photos (an idea that later came to me) on the front and back cover, will help catch attention more than smaller pictures.
